God’s purposes will never be thwarted. His original plan was always to have a people who would manifest the Kingdom of God on this planet to bring glory to His name. We are part of an army of ordinary people serving an extraordinary God. United we stand, divided we fall. There is unity in a healthy body and our unity with one another is the result of being one with our Heavenly Father, yielding to His leading and allowing the life of His Son to shine through us. Have I really understood the message, “For me to live is Christ, to die is gain…”? This life I now live is not all about me any more…”I am not my own, I am bought with a price,” the precious blood of Jesus Christ, shed for me on Calvary. Father God’s greatest desire is to manifest the life of His Son, Jesus Christ, through us to extend His kingdom to a dying world, that this planet may be filled with the glory of God.

God gives His people vision, Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie, though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” As we have said before, the waiting period is an important part of the journey on to the goal of the fulfillment of the vision. The well known hymn by W. Williams, “Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land,” so aptly describes the different stages of our earthly journey to the goal. The trials, the struggles, the mountain top experiences and the valleys are all a vital part of our journey in God. There are times when we have to encourage ourselves in God and remind ourselves of His faithfulness and never failing love for us. God is not a man that He should lie, or exchange His love for me to indifference. When the light in my life seems dim, it is me who is at fault, not God. It is I that, at some stage, have exchanged His truth for a lie, and I need Him to show me where to repent and fall in line with His perspective on circumstances. Let us fall in line with God’s word, “My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts“, Isaiah 55:9. God’s word stands, fulfills itself and it is futile and exhausting to fight it. Why should I fight a heavenly Father who loves me beyond measure?….just to hold on to my rights, thoughts and prideful ways when He wants to lead me to a better way, His way. Oh what needless pain we bear trying to do things in our own way!

We are joint heirs with Christ to all the promises of God! Jesus will encourage us, through His Holy Spirit, not to lose sight of the vision on the journey. The torch has been given to each of us to run with the vision and carry it on. No president, king or politician has a greater calling than this: that we can bless God with our lives in serving Him. God will not exclude us because of our faults, failures and unbelief. If we humbly repent, God will use our mistakes to fertilise the Christ within. Our weakness is just the platform God wants to demonstrate HIS strength, HIS power to glorify His great name. We all have the same opportunity to glorify God with our lives. God delights to show His strength through a vessel of weakness, but it is our responsibility to always declare the credit and glory belongs solely to God, not us. There are no wonderful people, but we serve an almighty, wonder working God and He will not give His glory to another. It is all His. Jesus demonstrated how to bear the glory of God. He always declared that He, of His own self, could do nothing, and yet He performed miracles through the power of Another, His Father. He would declare, “It is the Father within Me, He does the work.” He gave all the credit to his Father, the Source of his power. God’s glory is in safe hands in the hands of His Son. On our earthly journey, it is part of the course to learn to handle and live our lives to the glory of God.

There may be many transition periods we have to experience. Some we may stumble at if we do not see things from God’s perspective. The Lord may require us to let go of something in order to trust Him in something new. Our comfort zones can be very precious to us. God may require them at some stage in order to lead me higher with Him. Jesus declared, John 12:24, “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone, but if it dies it brings forth much fruit.” God may have given me a “proceeding word” but at some stage He may require it to be sacrificed on His altar, (As Abraham was required of God to sacrifice Isaac). In the sacrificing the dying takes place, and eventually, in the fullness of time, the fruit comes forth. That which God has birthed shall surely come to pass. Birth settles destiny!

YIELDING DESTROYS THE IMPETUS OF COMPULSION! Give up the struggle!

Read again 1 Corinthians 1:25-31 and remember your holy calling. You are set apart as a vessel for His glory if you walk in humility.
