Isaiah 10:27 “….and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

There are many forms of a yoke of bondage. As we journey along life’s highway, the Lord seeks to deliver us from the bondage that has controlled our lives. The Lord gives us light and revelation, breaks the yoke of bondage under His anointing and then requires us to walk in the light He has given. If I refuse to walk in His light, the yoke of bondage can be put back on me again!

The Anointing is a “Who”, a person. It is Jesus. As we learn from Him, He teaches us not to condemn ourselves when we fail. Handling failure is a learning curve to victory in Jesus, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As we respond to the Indwelling Christ, the life of God in us, He takes us from victory to victory as He brings our lives into His order, as we allow Christ to rule in our hearts.

1 John 3:20-21 “For if our hearts condemn us, GOD IS GREATER THAN OUR HEART, and knows ALL things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, THEN HAVE WE CONFIDENCE TOWARDS GOD.”

In the natural, we can condemn ourselves for our failures, but God never condemns us. When we sit under our cloud of condemnation and disappointment, it opens the door to the enemy of our souls, and he will heap accusations on top of our condemnation. Man condemns, the devil accuses, but our loving Heavenly Father does neither. He is wooing us to learn of Him in the circumstances on the way to victory in Jesus. I do not have to receive back the broken yoke of bondage, whatever it may be in my life. The above quote from 1 John 3, teaches us how to handle failure and learn from it, as I walk in God’s light to me. The Lord knew I was going to fail, He is not surprised by it, but I often am because I thought I was further along the road than I actually was! When failure comes I need to remind myself that I am not God’s failure. HE NEVER FAILS and has never failed me! I am a work in progress as I learn of Him and walk in His ways. The anointing “on” me, precedes the anointing “in” me. When I receive revelation it is “on” me. I have to take it into the school of life’s circumstances and allow the Holy Spirit to work it “in” me. Only then does it become truth to me.

Oswald Chambers said that so many Believers, when they heard a new truth, would be so enchanted by it, telling everyone about it…..but so unchanged! How tragic! Only humbling and yielding to the Holy Spirit will allow the word to be wrought into my life, bringing the order of God to my unruly heart, that I might reach my divine destiny – to be conformed to the image of God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

As I refuse to walk in condemnation, and have confidence towards God, (1 John 3:21) I begin to walk in the light and learn from Him. As the anointing is worked IN me, the yoke of bondage is not just broken, but destroyed!…Christ in me! The finished work of Calvary DESTROYED the yoke of bondage. As a disciple of the Lord Jesus, I follow and yield to His leading as I learn to stand in His finished work of redemption.

The anointing “on” breaks the yoke of bondage, but the anointing “in” destroys it! There is only one yoke that we need and that is yoke of Jesus, one of humility. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus said,

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me,for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

At the turn of the year, what better word of encouragement and love could we have from our Lord Jesus than this bidding, “Come unto Me!” All the treasures and mysteries of His love and kingdom are available to us, His beloved ones!….if we will humble ourselves and come.
