Romans 8:31 “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”
(1 John 2:1) We have a divine Advocate, the Lord Jesus Christ, our great High Priest who makes intercession before our Heavenly Father, on our behalf.
Jesus is our peace, (Ephesians 2:14). To be “more than a conqueror” I have to learn how to live a peace controlled life. There is an absence of fear in a peace controlled life. Abraham eventually arrived at the following position Romans 4: 20-21 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able to perform”. Abraham was brought to the position of being FULLY PERSUADED.
The apostle, Paul, arrived at the same position when he made his declaration in Romans 8: 38 -39: “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
Nothing can come to me except it be siphoned through the grid of God! Sometimes God will permit, in His wisdom, what He could prevent, in His power! Why would He allow that?….because He Has some divine learning curve through it to draw me closer to Him through the lesson. The grid of God is a holy filter to be reverenced , a place where I must bow before Almighty God and not kick against it. A place where we learn to sing reverently: “I bow down in THIS place, and confess You are Lord!” Here we seek His face and find His peace.
In the above scriptures, why does the Lord have to use the word “persuaded”? It is because I have a leaning to listen to the wrong voice and have to be persuaded not to listen to the obvious.
A BELIEF IN THE IMPOSSIBLE DEMANDS A REFUSAL TO BELIEVE THE OBVIOUS!
In a dilemma consider the following: Who told you? Where did you get your information from? Hath God said?
Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”. God’s way is LIFE, and in that persuasion, the abundant life in Christ He has promised us, is released.
Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?”
Never take counsel of your fears – it is a recipe for a life out of order! Take counsel of your peace – it is a recipe for a life in order. A peace controlled life has an absence of fear. Stand your ground….on the solid Rock of Christ. He is our firm foundation and our standing, our divine anchor in the storms of life. In Christ alone!
The Lord blessed me two years ago, by looking up a scripture on the internet. I was looking to understand more. I found a great peace in reading these teachings. I have made it a part of my alone time with the Lord. I have been so blessed!
I’m a side note, We live near Chicago, but vacationing in Florida,four years ago, through a divine encounter we met a pastor and his wife. They have ministered to us with their Christ like love. When I mentioned to them how my husband and I have been blessed by Arthur Burt’s writings. They shared how he use to come often to their church! Another hand of God to direct is to these teachings.
