As we gathered for fellowship together the Lord spoke so clearly through the interpretation of a tongue:

“There comes a moment in each of our lives where we think, “This is impossible”.  A moment when we think, “I don’t see the way forward”.  A moment when we even consider taking a back step, but let Me address this moment.  How many times have I emphasised, I AM THAT I AM.  I AM the Way.  I AM the Truth.  I AM the Life.  You have come to Me and there is not a moment of contradiction in your life and circumstances.  Keep your eyes on Me.  Keep trusting and I will make a way”.

Until you meet the impossible you do not touch the resources of God.

How important it is for each of us to give the Lord His rightful place of pre-eminence over our circumstances.  He is ‘Lord of all’ without question, but I have to choose to bow to Him in my life and make Him, allow Him, to be Lord of my circumstances, to me personally.  My personal circumstances are the place where I prove God is who He says He is, who His word declares Him to be.  God meets me in the furnace of affliction, the threshing floors of life, impossible situations that only He can supernaturally prove He is who He says He is.  Here we learn to exercise the measure of the gift of faith Jesus has granted  us.  Here we learn to trust Him and we find we are enlarged in Him. David declared he was enlarged in his distress, (Psalm 4:1).  There is divine purpose in our trials.  There is no waste in the economy of God, He can use everything to establish a deeper relationship with Him. We discover, more and more, the Wellspring from within, strengthening and enabling us to walk the journey with Him.  Here we discover another measure of “My presence shall go with thee”, and I prove the Lord is my Shepherd.

When my heart is overwhelmed, I can encourage myself in the Lord remembering Isaiah’s prophecy of Jesus.  Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder.  His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace”  Sometimes we may forget He is the greatest counsellor, and His counsel carries His peace when we take it on board.

The acronym for faith decares its challenge: F  A  I  T  H :- Forsaking All I Trust Him.

There is a disease for the Believer.  It is a spiritual disease, but may also have physical consequences sometimes.  This disease is a spiritual heart condition producing dis-ease.  The inner man of the heart can be affected by a lack on my part when I lose focus on the peace Jesus has given me and promised He will leave with me.  John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.  Not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.  Therefore the peace that Jesus gives me is my birthright in Christ.  The function and responsibility of my heart is to focus on, and believe what He says.  He has never given a promise He won’t fulfil.  If there is a lack the fault is with me.  Trouble is not in trouble, it is in my attitude to trouble!  The storms of life are where I can prove God is who He says He is.  Refusing sense knowledge, common sense, is a choice when it opposes what God says.  2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”.

When my heart is functioning in a spiritually diseased condition it comes against everything that God says, and has repercussions in my spiritual walk.  God has done His absolute best in line with the choices I have made.  As long as I have breath I have opportunity to change, make right choices and side with God.

The greatest enemy of faith is unbelief. God states our unbelief is evil, because He knows where it will lead us, away from Him.  Hebrews 3: 12 warns: “Take heed…lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God”.  Our unbelief comes from an unruly heart that refuses to take on board what God says, but listens to other views, opinions, reasoning, common sense resulting in doubt, fear and unbelief, which is the stock in trade of the devil!  I have to make a choice in the clamour of all the other voices to let God be true, and make Him Lord of my circumstance.  Only here will I find His peace.

The peace that Jesus gives is His over-riding provision for every circumstance.  His challenge to us is to bow to Him, surrender all ungodly opinions and reasoning and “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts…..and be thankful” Colossians 3:15……a recipe for a healthy heart!

God will make a way!
