Never take counsel of your fears!
Fear is always built on a lie.
Deal with the fear and fear stays near.
Deal with the lie and fear will die!
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I need to nail the lie I am believing and exchange it for what God says. When I “trust in the Lord with all my heart and do not lean on my understanding”, (Proverbs 3: 5-10), doubt, fear and unbelief flee.
One of the greatest fears can be the fear of man. Proverbs 29:25 declares: “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe”. It is possible to “live” a lie by not opening your mouth and speaking out about something that is clearly wrong. When I refuse to take ownership of a situation for whatever reason, such as the fear of man or making more work for myself, my silence produces an environment for fear to grow. The day of reckoning will lie ahead at some stage, when the truth will be revealed…….truth will out! Jesus declared, “There is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, neither hid, that shall not be known”, Luke 12:2.
I can pretend I do not have fear by using fluffy words to mask the fact: words such as “indwelling concern”, “disturbed”, “unhappy”. Neither fear nor truth can be embroidered to disguise it. The peace of God is displaced in my being when I entertain fear. When I entertain fear, (the devil’s ground), it is a destructive force in my life physically and spiritually. Chemical reactions from fear and stress can cause disease in my physical body.
My loving Heavenly Father’s greatest desire is His very best for me. He knows what is detrimental to my walk and fellowship with Him and wants all the obstacles removed from my side. I must take ownership of where I have not trusted Him, but taken counsel of my fears. I own to disown! As I repent before Him of not trusting Him enough, not walking in truth, entertaining fear and unbelief, He forgives and His royal exchange takes place……His beauty for my ashes, (Isaiah 61:3), that He might be glorified in my life. Now I am moving higher with Him and am encouraged, I can declare with Paul, Galatians 2:20: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me”.
No one wants disease, but a healthy body. I need to take my part in this in responsibility. 3 John 1:2 “Beloved I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers”. The important thing is to prosper in relationships. My health will prosper as I refuse to be critical of others, refusing to judge them by what I see and hear. 1 John 4:20 challenges us: How can we say we love God who we don’t see, yet do not love our brother who we do see?
Jesus declared the 2 commandments to live by: Matthew 22:37-39 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is likened unto it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself”. A recipe for health in all areas.
May my goal be not primarily, divine health, but to love the Lord with all my heart, soul and mind. When I get the order right, and live right, then love for others (God’s love in me), and divine health will be my portion, not measure but fullness! My birthright, and yours! No longer a slave to fear! I am a child of God.
