The following quote is often found to be true, “We all want progress but no-one wants change!” God’s formula for change is repentance. The evidence of repentance is shown in it’s fruit. John the Baptist declared in Matthew 3:8 “Bring forth fruits meet for repentance.” Jesus expounded on the fruit in our lives in Matthew 7:17, “Every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.” Verse 20, “…by their fruits you shall know them.” So then the reality of repentance is not just on the lips but evidenced in a person’s life. It is not what I say but what is observed by others as the reality of the fruits of repentance at work in my life….”..by their fruits you shall know them.”

How do I change? My failure qualifies me to humbly receive a Saviour who makes me acceptable through Calvary and His shed blood. Thank God for the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus!

If my heart is fertile ground to receive the seed of the word of God, if I embrace the word when He speaks to me instead of refusing it, His word is creative and will produce change in me, by His grace alone. Ephesians 5: 25-27, “…as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle….that it should be holy and without blemish.” The rhema word of God is living and creative and produces the change I need.

When God shows me where I am operating in pride, my pride hates seeing the pride in my life producing pressure. The only way to release that pressure is to humble myself before God and man and receive forgiveness through Christ’s blood, and change takes place.

The blood speaks of a glorious church Christ is returning for, a beautiful church, not a religious one. Am I up for change? Not change for change’s sake, but for the glory of God.ghthrough God to the pulling down of strong holds.” The words “strong hold” define themselves. It is something that has a strong hold in me. Strong holds can be in our minds, that in our reasoning there are patterns that produce actions. Some strong holds are generational and deeply embedded in us that we need releasing from.

God comes to release me from the strong holds in my life that limit my growth in His grace. When I trust in my own reasoning and accuse God because I do not understand His workings, my reasoning becomes a strong hold. MY REASON CAN BE TREASON AGAINST MY CREATOR. When He shows me the area of a strong hold He wants to release me from, He invites me to relinquish my strong hold for His divine strong hold. He invites me in to His “strong tower,”…..Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run in to it and are safe,” so if I run into Him I am safe and it is there where I learn to trust Him.

God is in the demolition business, He demolishes strong holds! Before He builds, He has to demolish all the wrong foundations. He roots them out, pulls them down, but then He builds on a firm foundation. The divine exchange – “beauty for ashes!”

I can run into God and make Him my strong hold and He hides me in “His tower.” It is a place of safety where He works, changes and redeems my life.

Lord Jesus, come and be the strong hold of my life!
