Are you in relationship with the divine Caretaker?  His name is Jesus.  When people are taking their leave from each other, or finishing a telephone conversation, some often use the parting phrase “Take care”.  This could be interpreted as paying too much attention to being overly wary or cautious

Let us consider the three positions of care.  They are careful, careless and carefree.  If I am careful, I may be unduly anxious or fearful.  If I am careless then I am negligent in my responsibilty.  If I am carefree I am demonstrating that I have rolled my burdens on the Lord and am trusting Him with my circumstances.  He is our divine Caretaker who upholds ALL things by His power.  The position of being carefree in Christ Jesus is the birthright of every Believer.  When we are tempted to be weighed down by our circumstances, it is the time to take another look at Calvary, and all Jesus purchased there for us.  These are the times to prove God is who He says He is.  “Prove Me now”, says the Lord, (Malachi 3:10).

Jesus’ words in Matthew 11: 28-30 are always current, life changing and challenging……but will we take up the challenge and prove Him?  “Come unto Me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light”.  If I refuse the challenge to come to Him and trust, there will be no change.  Only as I learn to lean on Jesus will I discover the peace He can give me in the chaos of circumstances, however dire.

Don’t ask God to change your circumstances, He sent them to change you!

Anxiety and fear within will always eventually manifest on the outside, no matter how we try to cover it up, or keep it in.  What we believe rules us and we will demonstrate that believing in thought and action.  If I am fearful then the consequences of anxiety will be present.  You cannot fix the outside appearance without fixing what goes on in the inside.  If I am trusting God then I can enjoy the benefits of His peace and presence in the midst of every trial, confident that He will bring me through, “working all things together for good”, (Romans 8:28).  My security is in Christ alone.

Let God be true!  Believe in His word and all it declares of Him.  “Let the peace of God rule in your heart”, Colossians 3:15.  In order to LET, a choice has to be made to the Lord.  It involves a surrender of the feelings and emotions which endeavour to rule our hearts and believing, entertaining fear, doubt and unbelief.  None of these imposters can live on the resurrection ground that Christ has made available for us to walk on, live on and make our home there.  We can choose to surrender and be living LET-ERS, (letters), “living epistles known and read of all men”, (2 Corinthians 3:2).  What a testimony to the world that is, when an inward divine exchange takes place, (the beauty of Christ for the ashes of my wrong concerns and mess), and becomes an outward demonstration of a Christ ruled heart and life.  Now that’s something, Someone, worth living for!

LET the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.  Sometimes my circumstances may not change, but when I am having to do with God in the midst of the trial, I discover the treasure of the indwelling Christ working to have full sway on the inside of me, seeking to reign in my heart.  In this position my prayer life will change.  No longer will I continually ask God to deliver me from my circumstances, but I discover that in this place the desires of a surrendered heart yearn to know Him more, live more closely, listen more intently and enjoy living in the abundance of His love and affection.  I am a child of the Living God, and as such, can live carefree in His promise of the abundant life of my divine Caretaker.
