When my eyes are on Jesus I begin to see things from His perspective and the things of earth grow strangely dim, as in His light things take on a different view. As I take counsel from Him He keeps me in perfect peace. When I focus on my problems or surroundings – the things of earth – I am troubled and become a “troubler.” Unrest not dealt with has consequences (ripples) to those around me.
The old song is simple, yet profound:
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.”
