Matthew 6: 19-21
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

As we consider the above words of Jesus, we see that just as there is a spiritual treasure in life that we should be occupied with, there are also earthly treasures that we should not be taken up with. Jesus said that our hearts are governed by the things we treasure.

James 5:1-8 warns us against “heaping treasure together for the last days.” In these “End Times” and “Last Days” there is a spiritual treasure in establishing our hearts and getting our priorities right before God. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every WORD THAT PROCEEDETH out of the mouth of God,” – a proceeding word! Sadly Christendom has made so many mistakes believing that the “written” word is a “proceeding” word.

Hebrews 3:7-8 encourages us, “Today, if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts….” Last week we shared about “men’s traditions making void the word of God,” – What word? A proceeding word! Are we guilty of carrying on a “proceeding” word from God into a tradition? – when it has actually become a proceed – ed (dead) word, and God has moved on whilst His people are stuck in their tradition doing things in the same old way, waiting for God to move, when the truth is that God is waiting for them! “The Husbandman (the Lord) waits for the precious fruit of the earth….” James 5:7

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” God gives His gifts to godly and ungodly men alike. He is the Creator, the giver of all gifts to mankind. There are different administrations of gifts for the purposes of God. A doctor or a surgeon can use their giftings to promote and restore health to a diseased body or God may supernaturally heal. There is no record of Luke, the Physician, being rebuked by Jesus. I am sure He blessed him. Thank God for the gifts and knowledge of those in the medical profession, but God is the source of all life and healing, whether a body is healed after surgery, or supernaturally with a miracle through His creative word. It is all “OF” God.

Many have seen God operate in supernatural healing. One of the Lord’s names is, Jehovah Rapha – “I AM the Lord that healeth thee,” Exodus 15:26 Those who have not witnessed God’s supernatural miracles must not drag the Lord down to their experience. God is not a man that He should change, He is unchanging. If we are not seeing God move in the supernatural, is it because there is too much self-exaltation through whom the gift operates? God withholds if the gift cannot be borne to His glory.

In this dispensation God is preparing a people who are learning to lose their identity, to die daily and allow the indwelling Christ to live His life through them, bearing the grace of God to the glory of God. We have not yet entered into our full inheritance, but it is offered to us. It is our birthright! Jesus came not just to offer life, but abundant life! This is the lifestyle we should be living as a Christian, allowing God to heal and establish our hearts in Him.

The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the earth establishing the hearts of His sons and daughters in Him, teaching them to carry His gifts to His glory, daily choosing to “disappear”, hidden in Christ, unaware of carrying His presence yet “seen and read of all men.” May the cry of our heart be to be lost and found in Him!
