What an amazing fact that insignificant, little me can bring good pleasure to Almighty God, Creator of all things. Revelation 4:11 declares, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are, and were, created”. My life lived to the glory of God can bring pleasure to the Almighty.

Amazing fact number 2: Incompleteness in man is God’s design, in order that we find completeness in “Another”. The “Another” being His Son, Jesus Christ. God’s love completes me. Colossians 2:9-10, speaking of Jesus, “For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily – and you are complete in him….” There we have it! Our incompleteness is completed in Him, Jesus Christ. Just as Jesus, our Pattern Man, was incomplete without His Father, (“I can of mine own self do nothing. It is the Father in Me, He does the works”), so are we incomplete without Him.

On the Mount of Transfiguration, Almighty God was Jesus’ independent witness. He declared to Peter, James and John, “…This is my beloved Son, hear him,” Luke 9:35.

All of Jesus’ earthly life was to bring pleasure to His Father and through the finished work of Calvary, He made a way to bring “many sons to glory”. I may have done many things that have not brought my Heavenly Father pleasure, but He does not give up on me. His love is unconditional. Jesus was perfect in every way yet He chose imperfection in mankind, to “bring many sons to glory”. I am one of the “many sons”. Are you? God has begun this work in me and will finish it. He does not give up on people – but does require their co-operation! When I make a choice and ask Him to fix it, He will bring circumstances in my life to establish the character of His Son in me. As I yield in humility to the direction of His Holy Spirit, the royal exchange takes place – beauty for ashes, as I abide in the Vine. I discover the truth of Philippians 2:13: “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do, of his good pleasure.” My Heavenly Father chooses a disobedient, incomplete man. He works on him and brings him to obedience. When we finally understand how much the Lord loves us, we are ruined forever. His love has ruined us for Himself as we discover He is the only One who can satisfy our thirsty souls. When we lose ourselves in Him, we discover the victorious joy and power of His life living through us – “Christ in me, the hope of glory!” Oh to be lost and found in Him!

The divine Gardener comes to inspect the fruit in His orchard. Jesus said, “..the tree is known by it’s fruit”, Matthew 12:33. If we bear testimony of ourselves, our witness is not true. We all need an independent witness. Our lives speak. Paul called us “living epistles, known and read of all men”. When I allow Jesus to rule and reign in my heart, the fruit of the Spirit, (Galations 5:22) is evidenced in my life for all to behold and enjoy. This fruit is to be given away to extend God’s kingdom to others. Jesus said, Matthew 10:8 “…freely you have received, freely give.” Luke 6:38 “ Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” You can never out-give God!

My words hold no relevance if my life is not bearing fruit to God’s glory. ( 1 Corinthians 13).

Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.” The final test.

May we never forget that we are created for our Father’s good pleasure. “He has made everything beautiful in his time”, Ecclesiastes 3:1. We are a work in progress, but let us remember whose workmanship we are: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works that God has before ordained that we should walk in them,” Ephesians 2:10. We are HIS workmanship! Hallelujah! Let us joyfully continue walking life’s road – Jesus and me. We have the victory!
