We have lived through months of government limitations relative to Covid 19. We recognise the deception of the driving force behind it all is the one who deceives nations. There have been many cancellations of provisional plans and limited movement, but, praise God, the Holy One of Israel remains unlimited! God never changes. Hebrews 13:8 declares: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever”.
We know that God is omnipresent but, amid all the chaos of the past months, we have experienced times of refreshing when heaven has invaded earth as we have gathered to worship the Lord. God’s presence has been tangible and He has encouraged our hearts and edified our spirits as we have declared His kingdom rules over ALL, (Psalm 103:19).
The Lord Jesus Christ is the full expression of all truth. Indeed, He declared, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father, but by me”. He is the divine bottleneck to living the divine life. When we give Him the number one place in our lives, pre-eminence, all the fullness of His nature and character can flow freely through us. Christ in you, the hope of glory! (Colossians 1:27).
Jesus’ desire to live His life in me is far greater than any desire I declare I have for Him. My barriers of control and selfish ambition have to be surrendered on daily issues as I choose the lifestyle Jesus demonstrated, with His words that changed the world, “…..nevertheless not what I will, but what you will”, (Mark 14:36). He surrendered His own will and chose His Father’s.
We often quote Proverbs 23:23, “Buy the truth and do not sell it…..”. The same verse continues: “…..also wisdom, and instruction and understanding”. Jesus is the full expression of all truth and as I allow Him to be Lord of my heart, choices and ways, humbling to receive instruction, His resurrection life will flow through me in demonstration to others. I will be hidden in Him, unaware of it, yet receiving all the benefits of His divine life and presence in me. As I refuse any darkness of deceit and selfish ambition, I walk in the light, (the life of Christ), the truth. When I have removed the barriers in me to Christ’s divine life, then He can impart to me His wisdom and understanding for daily life, (the second part of the above verse quoted). The greater, (walking in truth), includes the lesser. I cannot receive the wisdom and understanding of Christ if I am not walking in truth.
As I make Jesus number one in my life, I will be effective wherever I am for extending His kingdom here on earth.
The Holy Spirit of God is constantly interceding for us before the Father. He is the Spirit of truth and will witness to our spirit guidance for daily direction and choices. As we obey, we will hear more clearly. Romans 8:26-27 “Likewise the Spirit helps our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God”.
Let us make Jesus our divine bottle neck, our sieve, for all our daily choices, ridding ourselves of all that does not measure up to His standards of true and truth. The consequence of right choices will bring more intimacy with our beloved Jesus, and only as I walk with Him will I discover all the fullness of God, my divine inheritance. What better goal could my life have?
