Let us meditate on the word “continuity”.  William Cowper penned the well known hymn “There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins”.  The words of the hymn remind us of the continuous flow of this supernatural fountain made available to all those who have accepted Christ’s offer of salvation, and now walk with Him on resurrection ground.   This is the birthright of every Believer.  There is a continuous flow in a fountain.  It does not stagnate because it has a source and an outlet.

Some believe that people are where they are because of lack of information, but there is another position that people are where they are because of lack of “application”.  The challenge is: where am I in this?  When I receive revelation of the truths in God’s word, or when God speaks to me in another way and I fail to respond, or fail to apply His word to my life, then I stagnate and stop the flow of His fountain of resurrection continuity in my life.

Arthur used to say that when God gives revelation, ( that light bulb moment of spiritual understanding), it will be followed up in the school of life with a situation.  Here I have to apply that word, in order for it to be wrought into the fabric of my every day living, becoming an eventual lifestyle in maturity.  If I do not apply the revelation, then sadly, it becomes evaporation!  Oswald Chambers would say, “Enchanted but  unchanged!”

Have I considered that maybe I am where I am in my circumstances, not because God is withholding, but because I am not applying something God requires of me?  When I hang on to the right to myself in any form, the fountain flow of Christ’s provision is blocked.  The words of Jesus still echo through eternity: “…..how often I would have gathered you, but you would not”, Matthew 23: 37-38.

Revelation – situation – application……..or evaporation leading to stagnation?  Don’t stop the flow!

2 Corinthians 2:14 speaks of the continuity of the fountain flowing from us in gratitude to the Lord Jesus: “Now thanks be unto God which ALWAYS causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in EVERY place”  Here we find the continuity of gratitude causes us to triumph in the flow of resurrection provision for every day life.  As I apply His word and direction for my life, I become a carrier of His presence.

PRAYER :  Dear Lord Jesus, our constant Redeemer – a thousand thankyous for the continuity of the grace and mercy of Your life within us.  Grant us hearing ears, an accepting heart to what You say, and a life that follows through to bring glory to Your name.  Amen
