When doubt and unbelief attempt to become my fellow travelers on my earthly journey, I must rid my heart of their company and quickly show them the door!  I must choose to believe the Word of God and declare it over these ungodly weeds I have entertained in the garden of my heart.  My heart is the same fertile ground for God’s word or the devil’s.  My responsibility is to be the gate-keeper of my heart, choosing  to stand firm on what God has declared.

Without faith it is impossible to please God”,  Hebrews 11:6.

Hebrews 3:12 warns “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God”.   Our loving Heavenly Father calls unbelief  evil because He knows it will take us on a wrong pathway away from His purpose for us, and thus limiting the Unlimited One.  Unbelief is a stumbling block.  My reasoning can rob me of my birthright in Christ.

Of course we will have challenges on our journey, but God needs our co-operation to believe what He says.  When I go beyond my natural thinking and believe what He says, I delight His heart and He is well pleased.

When we meet the impossible we can touch the resources of Almighty God.

Consider the word “able”.  It is the root word of ability and enable.  Have I dwelt on the words of Jesus: “I can of my own self do nothing”?….. (He was referring to the fact that it was the Father in Him enabling Him to do the work).  Do I understand that using the words “I can’t” is not the truth, when “I won’t” is really the truth and a stumbling block.  If I truly believe of my own self I can do nothing, the next step is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, Philippians 4:13.  It is no longer acceptable to say “I can’t” and stay there, when God has His plan to go forward in His ability, for His glory.  The enabling ability of Christ has been deposited in me.  Just as the priests carrying the Arc of the Covenant, (symbolic of God’s Presence), (Joshua 3:14-17),  had to take that first step before the waters receded, so must I take that first step in choice.  Then His ability and enablement is released through me.  He leads, I follow.  The creative power of Christ in me fulfils His divine purpose.  It is all OF Him, to God be all the glory!

Ephesians 3:20 (Amplified Ver.) “Now to Him Who by (in consequence of) the (action of His) power that is at work within us, is able to (carry out His purpose) and do superabundantly, far over  and above all that we (dare) ask or think (infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams).

Almighty God has it all covered.  He is able!……but He requires my co-operation.  He speaks, I step on the waters, He rolls back the sea.   I take the first step, He undertakes…for everything in His plan.  He is the great Undertaker….Indeed!  Whatever your lack is, God says, (as He did to Moses), I am that to you.  The great I AM never changes, nor does the depth of His unconditional love for us.
