The subject of suffering is not popular or attractive to my flesh, but is necessary to teach me to walk in the Spirit. There are many different types of suffering. Physical suffering, due to sickness or affliction, emotional suffering, due to difficult relationships,and suffering consequences of wrong choices. All are adverse situations which can produce physical or emotional pain..

There is much to learn about pain and how to manage it. Oh you may say, “I don’t want to manage it, but be rid of it!” Well consider this; deliverance IN my circumstances is more glorifying to God than deliverance FROM my circumstances! The three Hebrew children were delivered IN the fiery furnace (one like unto the Son of God being with them) Daniel 3 v 25. Daniel was delivered IN the lions den, God shutting the lions mouths: Daniel 6 v 22 & 23.

Revelation 12: 11 Tells us that they overcame, by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony and they loved not their lives unto the death.

There are many forms of death before I reach the coffin stage. Paul declares ” I die daily ” 1 Cor 15:31. This is the part my flesh hates. This is where spiritual warfare takes place, IN MY HEART.

Back to pain management…Doubt-Fear-Anxiety, are all great intensifiers of pain. So how do I gain the victory over these barbs and painful weapons of satan? By humbling myself to the Word of God.

The peace of God is given me by Jesus, the Indweller within my heart. He says, ” Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”: John 14 v 27.

God will take me through certain situations instead of taking me out of situations to glorify Himself. His peace is the equipping grace to endure the suffering for the joy which is set before us!

Jesus endured the cross, for the joy that was set before him: Heb 12 v 2.

This process is the journey God has mapped out for me, to produce maturity, and is the path of sonship.

Hebrews 6 v 15  Abraham, after he had patiently endured obtained the promise!

Hebrews 6 v 11-20:

11 And we desire that every one of you do show the diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end;

12 That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for conformation is to them an end of all strife.

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20 Wither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Mel-chis-e-dec

If it is impossible to please God without faith then I must receive an increase of faith ( it is the gift of God ) Faith in God is belief in God, and Jesus says in John 5 v 44 How can you believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? This is living to man, just one area which is bondage and prevents my faith in God.

Let us prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to search our hearts as to where our faith may be increased, not forgetting that which God demands, God provides. Where I am lacking grace, by having the truth, God then gives me more grace, because grace and truth are in Jesus:

John 1 v 16-17: 16 And of his fulness have we all received, and grace for grace:

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
