God is not in time, but time is in God.

As we approach the end of the old year and the beginning of the New Year it’s a good time to ask the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and do a spiritual health check on what we are believing.

Romans 10:10 declares  ‘with the heart man believeth’… and Proverbs 23:7… ‘As he thinketh in his heart so is he’.

Today each and everyone of us is an expression of what we believe. We do not rule our believing! What we believe rules us!

Just as a motor vehicle’s speed is governed by the gear it is in, so our life is governed by what we believe!

The apostle Paul was in a low gear when he declared that Alexander the coppersmith did him much evil, 2 Tim. 4:14. He moved into a higher gear in Romans 8:28, when he wrote:  ‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose. Later in the same chapter he is in top gear when he declares v: 31 ‘If God be for us, who can be against us’?

Just as a vehicle’s potential is governed by the gear it is in, so the condition of my heart, (the seat of my believing) governs the quality of my life.

When we first become born again we ask the Lord Jesus into our hearts. Only as my heart is governed by Him do I enjoy the peace which passes all understanding, do I experience fulness of joy and though my life’s journey may contain many mountains and valleys, His presence aids me to overcome the trials and difficulties I experience on life’s highway.

As we approach another year of challenge, let us ask Father to help us change our hearts attitude to those challenges (which will require a change in my believing)…That we may fulfill the potential of the treasure we carry within our earthen vessels…The indwelling Christ.

Thou mighty Christ come forth in me. My will, my way, I yield to thee!!
