Once again we find ourselves on the cusp of catastrophic world events and ensuing change.  So much of the chaos in the world is the consequence of man’s sinful choices and the innocent are destroyed, or suffering, along with the guilty.  Such is the nature of sin and grieves the heart of God.  How important it is to view these events through God’s perspective.  The scriptures reveal God’s perfect, and final plan for mankind and this earth He created.  The sins and rebellion of wicked men will not thwart His final purposes, but meanwhile, how is the church of Jesus Christ, His Body, living among the chaos?  Are you, and I, allowing the onslaught of world events viewed through the godless perspective of the media, to give place to fear and depression?  It is imperative to keep our eyes and ears tuned in a heavenly direction in order that we may stand on our firm foundation in Christ.  God uses everything to shake the nations, only those in the Shaker, will remain steadfast and find safety in Him.  Noah and his family found safety in the ark, God shut the door and preserved them.  Jesus is our Ark, our only place of safety in this tumultuous world.  We can access His peace in the chaos.  He is our Rock on which we stand unmoved upon.

Hebrews 12: 25-29 “See that you do not refuse Him that speaks. For if those who refused Him that spoke on earth did not escape, much more shall not we escape if we refuse Him who speaks from heaven: whose voice shook the earth, but now has He promised saying: ‘Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.’  And this word, ‘Yet once more’, signifies the removing of  those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things that cannot be shaken may remain.  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.”

In the final shaking God is working His purposes out to establish His rule on the earth.  In times of despondency let us encourage ourselves in God and remember: “……His kingdom rules over ALL”, Psalm 103: 19.

Isaiah 56:1 “Thus says the Lord, Keep judgement and do justice, for My salvation is near to come, and My righteousness to be revealed.”  God’s righteousness needs to be revealed because unrighteousness has became acceptable by the world’s twisted standards that have been sliding down a slippery slope for years.  Do not fear, the Arm of the Lord will be revealed.  God’s Arm is revealed in His Son, Jesus Christ.  Psalm 22: 28 declares of God: “For the kingdom is the Lord’s and He is the ruler of the nations”.

God, the Father, has delegated ALL power to His Son: “In Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are complete in Him who is the head of ALL principality and power”, Colossians 2: 9-10.  With our eyes fixed on Jesus we have much to rejoice in.  Our whole perspective of world events comes into balance when viewed through scripture, God’s word.  He cannot deny His word.

Jesus said, speaking of His death on the Cross: “If I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me,”  John 12:32  Now the Lord Jesus speaks to us individually and requires a personal walk with Him each day, challenging us to “lift Him up” in each of our lives, then He will draw us closer to Himself, and others will be drawn to the Christ in me.  God’s people need to abandon their personal biases and allow the Lord to establish a bias towards Him in all our thoughts, deeds and ways.  This is the pathway that leads to revival, which starts in me.

Isaiah 43: 18-19 “Forget the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing…….I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”   Stay expectant……live close!
