2 Timothy 1:7  “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  As God has not given fear, what am I doing entertaining it?

Many who know the scriptures regarding fear, in spiritual pride attempt to dress their fears in acceptable vocabulary.  The words anxious, concern and worry are just fluffy names for fear, dressed up in respectable clothing, (or so they think).

When circumstances change and our stable emotions begin to wobble, the levels of God’s peace in our spiritual barometer begin to fall.  The Lord teaches us what to do in these situations.  As the red light of warning begins to flash, this is our opportunity to run into God.  God’s word declares: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths”, Proverbs 3: 5-6.  Declare this word in faith over your situation.  It will become truth to you, the life of Jesus Christ in you bringing peace and direction in your trial.  Jesus Christ is waiting for His Church to crown Him as Lord of their lives, and Lord OVER every circumstance.  This is our birthright in Christ as overcomers.  He is the Waymaker who walks us through all our trials and difficulties as we seek, and submit to, His direction, abandoning our good ideas for His God ones.  The good is the enemy of God’s best!

Seek the Lord and He will be found!  He never hides from a man who walks in truth, for it is the nature of His Son.  Jesus Christ is the embodiment of all truth.  He declared: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life….”, John 14:6.

Many churches have sung with great gusto the song “I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God”.  It is a powerfully anointed song, but how many of us in changing situations have not always walked in it’s truths?  In no wise does that mean I should not sing those lines again.  Sing it again in faith, declare it until it becomes ingrained in your life, as the Holy Spirit establishes the truth you are singing.  He will bring plenty of opportunities for you to prove it.  As I submit to the Holy Spirit, He establishes another measure of the fullness of Christ in me.  The rags of fear are replaced by the royal robes of Christ in the divine exchange of His new creation in me……all for His glory!

Jesus declared that the devil is the father of the lie. John 8:44 records Jesus’ scathing description of him: “……..He was a murderer from the beginning and did not abide in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

We are devil proof as we abide in the truth.  That is our responsibility and daily choice.  The devil’s ground is fear and unbelief and when we entertain these imposters, we give the devil a foothold of entry into our lives, hence the responsibility lies with us!  Learn to nail the lie!  If we do not, then the devil has a father’s visiting rights to the lies we are entertaining, for they are his children!

All fear is built on a lie, entertain fear and fear stays near,

Nail the lie and fear will die!

Nail the lie of wrong believing in fear.  God’s word is full of His promises to take care of me and make provision for me in every area of my life.  If I have made wrong choices and living in the consequences of that choice, godly sorrow leads to repentance, and true repentance invites the Lord into our circumstances.  Here I find His enabling grace, forgiveness and strength to carry me through the passage and even discover some of His treasure in the darkness.  Indeed, His very presence is the treasure!

God declared to Jeremiah that He knew him before he was born, before He formed him in the womb, (Jeremiah 1: 5).  So it was for each of us, God knew us in eternity.  Our finite minds cannot comprehend the Infinite One.  He is not in time, time is in God.  God has divine purpose for each of us, but our choices can limit Him.

Let us ask the Holy Spirit to expose to us the areas in our lives where we are not fully trusting Him, that we may leave these areas of darkness and walk in His glorious light of truth and trust.

Out of……………….and into!  A walk of transparency that when the devil comes searching for a foothold, he finds nothing in me…..all glory to God!
