1 Corinthians 1:5,10
v5 “That in everything ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge.”
When the Spirit of God gives utterance to a person, the words spoken are Spirit and life, bringing creation.

v10 ” Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement.”

As we walk on with the Lord Jesus Christ, our lives become enriched by Him, v.5, and He brings about His unity in the Body, His Church. We become united as we respond to the workings of the Holy Spirit as He “perfectly joins us together in the same mind.” v. 10

The Divine Carpenter, the Master Craftsmen, is at work in our lives perfecting each joint as He frames us together with one another. Ephesians 2: 20 – 22 declares that Jesus Christ Himself is the chief corner stone on which we are being built, “fitly framed together”, growing into a holy temple by His Spirit for His habitation. This is the glorious result of being “perfectly joined together,” – God’s presence being carried and living amongst us, each joint supplying something different, yet of the same mind, i.e. God’s purposes, producing an effectiveness in our daily lives for His glory.

There is great strength in a perfect joint that is fitly framed together.

The words of an old song still carry profound truth:-

“Let us open up ourselves to our Lord Jesus
Without fear of being hurt or turned away,
For we have to confess our weaknesses
To be covered by our Saviour’s blood,
To be real and find our TRUE IDENTITY.

For we are all a part of one another
We cannot hope to make it solely on our own,
For we all possess a part of our Heavenly Father’s nature,
And TOGETHER we will make the perfect whole.”

Unity is God’s theme, mind and heart.

In the medical world today there is much talk about Auto-Immune Diseases – when the body turns against itself and self destructs. This can also be said of the Body of Christ when we try to “put people right” in a wrong spirit and burden people with false expectation, resulting in disunity and breakdown in relationships. We have all done it! We need one another and humility in the “joints” is essential.

Psalm 133 records that where brethren dwell together in unity, there the Lord commands a blessing upon us. When we conform to the principle of Godly unity our lives become changed, our focus is the Lord, not ourselves, and our inner healing begins for God’s glory when we allow ourselves to be “fitly framed together,” as we yield under His mighty hand.

When unity is perfected in the Body of Christ, the Church, there will only be one voice heard………….from the mind of Christ!
(“perfectly joined together in the same mind,” 1 Cor. 1:10)
