The word of God declares that when we are born again, it is through the incorruptible seed of the word of God:  1 Peter 1:23, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.”

Many of us have had children and during their upbringing, we have sown the incorruptible seed of the word of God into their lives.  Some of our children, now grown, have chosen a path in life that has led them away from the Christian values we attempted to instill in them.  The testimony of Jesus, in our personal walk with the Lord, is that God’s mercy re-wrote our lives, and that is our desire for our children.

We can rest in the faithfulness of God that at the set time,  that incorruptible seed will crack open and germinate.  Paul declared, Galatians 1:15-16 “But when it pleased God……to reveal His Son in me….” ,  the incorruptible seed popped into fertile ground and brought forth the Son of God, the Indwelling Christ in Paul, to fulfil the divine purposes of God.  God’s mercy re-wrote his life and Paul changed direction.

Psalm 126: 5-6 “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

God’s covenant promise to Abraham was not only to him, but to the generations after him; his seed and his seed’s seed.  Galatians 3:26 declares,  “For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”    Galatians 3:29  seals the promise:  “And if you are Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise”.    Hallelujah!  God has it all covered!

Finally, we can rest in the all-encompassing foreknowledge of Almighty God – our beloved,  Heavenly Father.  He declares His thoughts towards us in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”    God has a plan, not only for our lives, but for the generations that follow us.  As we seek to live our lives worthy of Him, He will enable us to fulfil our destiny in Him and bring glory to His Son, Jesus Christ.   “Christ in me, the hope of glory!”

The Divine Weaver continues to work with us in the rich tapestry of life.   Some of the dark threads in the tapestry serve only to fade into the background and promote the splendour of God’s threads of gold and silver, as He weaves His robe of grace to clothe us in.    May we wear our royal robe to His glory, resting and trusting in His word.  It is His nature of love to redeem.  Jesus, the Good Shepherd declared, “Other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd”,  John 10:16.

Be still, and know that I am God”,  Psalm 46:10.
