No man is an island.  We are all members of the Body of Jesus Christ, “fitly framed TOGETHER” growing into a “holy temple in the Lord”, (Ephesians 2:21).  God bestows His gifts in a many membered Body and sets each one in a given place to function to His glory.  There is great diversity in His gifts but only as we function in unity, do we fulfil the whole purpose of God: to reveal His Son in each of us and corporately.

We cannot do anything individually that does not affect the other members of the Body.  We are held together by each other and sealed by God for divine purpose, to glorify Him.  Our constant goal should be to walk and operate in love, a love that would lay his life down for his friends.  We die to self to live in Christ, refusing any path that leads to disunity and isolation from the Body that Christ has set me in.  A divided Church will never reach the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, ( Ephesians 4: 13-25).

We are built together as lively stones for a habitation for God.  He desires to live and operate through a united Body, to live and dwell among His people.  In a natural building, the bricks are held together by mortar.  In God’s spiritual building, the living stones are held together with the mortar of humility.  Every step of independence is a step away from God.  God has set the members in the Body TOGETHER.  Only when we are united and walking together, will we go forward as one.

Our minds can be beguiled and deceived away from the simplicity of the gospel.  Paul declared, 2 Corinthians 11:3,  “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ”.

Our hearts cannot give us truth.  It is our spirit that witnesses to truth and discernment.  The things of God are revealed to us by His Spirit.  1 Corinthians 2: 9-12   “…….But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.  For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?  Even so, the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God……..”.   It is vital to have a Christ ruled heart to filter all information that comes to and through it, fine tuning it to receive a clear signal from God.  If my heart is out of order, that signal becomes clouded and I am deceived.  I open myself up to the beguiling serpent who delights to knock me off course.  Humility and repentance is the only key that unlocks the door to the right pathway I lost.

Any discomfort we feel reveals our resistance to God.  God comes to take us out of our comfort zones to a higher place in Him.  The Holy Ghost is also referred to as the Comforter, but He stirs us up to make us very uncomfortable, in order to lead us into God’s best for us.  As we surrender, He leads us where He wants to take us ……. into God’s purpose for our lives.  We assure our hearts and have confidence in God, (1 John 3: 19-21).  Jesus was comfortable in His Father’s presence.  Our birthright is to allow the Spirit to lead us into our Father’s perfect plan for our lives, making us comfortable with Jesus and His presence.

A mother eagle carefully guards, protects and feeds her young fledglings.  Eventually the day arrives when she deems the time has come to turn the eaglets out of the nest.  They will never learn to fly in that comfort zone.  She tears the nest to pieces and the  young birds are launched from the safety of the precipice of the only home they have known.   Only as they fall do they discover the joy of flying, using their wings of purpose.  They soon learn not only to fly, but to soar, fulfilling their potential and purpose.  As it is for the eaglet, so it is for us.

As we learn to soar with our wings of divine purpose, “the things of the earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glorious face”.

TOGETHER….we will soar!
