Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.” God FORMED man.

Problems began when the devil, in the form of a serpent, came to deceive Eve, (Genesis 3). He deceived her, or “conned” her into believing a lie.

If we “fast forward” 4,000 years, after the resurrection of Jesus, we find Paul in his epistle to the Romans, expounding on the anti-dote to being conned by the devil: Romans 12:2 “Do not be CONFORMED to this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

God FORMED us, the devil conned us to be CONFORMED to this world and it’s way of thinking, but now the Holy Spirit of God is bringing us back to be TRANSFORMED to the image of Jesus Christ and His way of thinking.

2 Corinthians 4:6 “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” The glory of God is found in the face of Jesus Christ. We are all on a journey to fullness, the fullness of the life of the Son of God in me and you….so we are all up for change!

The old chorus springs to mind:

Not my will, but Thine be done,
That the fullness of the Son,
May rule within this life
That I have offered You.
Until everything I do
Becomes the thing that pleases You,
Abba, Father, I would be a son “in-DEED”.

The life of the Indwelling Christ in us transforms us to be sons of the Living God, not jut in words, but IN DEEDS also. Does the life I live measure up to the words I speak? We are encouraged in 1 John 3:18 “…let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” This is practical Christianity. It has to work! The glory of God, (“found in the face of Jesus Christ”), came down to earth in practical Christianity. Jesus Christ came to this earth, went from the Cross to the grave, then rose from the dead a living, conquering Saviour. His life was proved, tried and tested and He offers it to us. Only as we look to Jesus will we be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Along the journey we will have to shed a lot of our wrong believing, unlearn a lot of our ways as our Saviour transforms us into His newness of resurrection life.

There is great diversity in the Body of Christ, He made us all different, but there is only one Spirit, and He unites us all in Christ, transformed for Kingdom living. We can no longer live to please ourselves, we are bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. A divine exchange took place when I entered into my salvation and surrendered my life to the Lord, but there is a daily surrendering of my will:-

SURRENDER IS ALWAYS IN THE NOW

There is beauty in surrender for the life of God’s Son is there. Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me, transformed for eternity, indwelt by Deity.
