God’s telephone number: Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things , which thou knowest not”.  Here in God’s word we have a tremendous promise.  Our starting point is an acknowledgement of truth that we do not “know” or fully understand.  God does not need my earthly wisdom and knowledge, but in humility, I call out to Him, for His.  There are so many rumours, stories, lies and half truths flying around at present, but we need God to show us the “great and mighty things we do not know about” that He promises to reveal to us when we cry out to Him in humility, confidence and trust in Him alone.

God can use everything and anything to His advantage because He is omnipotent…….and He is God, the one and only great I AM.  This present evil virus is not of God, but He is using it to sift His people.

I ask myself this question: Where do I fall short of the commandments of Jesus?  What is the Holy Spirit putting His mighty hand on, the finger of God?  Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  The second is like unto it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself”.

My life is not my own anymore to do as I wish.  1 Corinthians 6:20 “For you are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s”.  The blood of Jesus was the price paid at Calvary.  When I entered into salvation and invited Jesus into my heart, He became my Saviour, now I have to crown Him as Lord of my life…..daily…..in all I say and do.  It is our birthright to “know Him and the power of His resurrection”, (Philippians 3:10), but I will never be trusted with that “power” if I am seeking my own independence, operating my life seeking my will before God’s.

God poured out Himself when He sent Jesus to this earth for us.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life”,  John 3:16.  Jesus paid the price with His life blood for my debt of sin, now I owe Him a debt of love.  Romans 13:8 (NIV) instructs  “Let no debt remain outstanding except the continual debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law”.

Love begets love.  We only love the Lord because He first loved us, (1 John 4:19).  When I fulfil the first commandment I cannot help but love my neighbour as myself, because the greater (the first commandment), includes the lesser, (the second).  The love of God is all consuming.

Never lose sight of Jesus.  Jesus said “Fear not little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom”,  Luke 12:32.  Jesus gave the terms and conditions that apply to this promise in the previous verse, verse 31: “But rather seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you”.

Am I seeking the kingdom of God before my own distractions in life?  Many idols and distractions of men have been toppled and withdrawn in this present crisis.  Will I seek to resurrect them when the quarantine period is over? As God sifts His people, now is the time to ask, seek and knock: Jesus said “Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and you shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you”,  Matthew 7:7.  Personal repentance in me ignites the fire of a personal revival.  A heart set aflame by God is contagious and others catch the fire.

Now is the season to walk and not grow weary.  Times and seasons change, but be encouraged, call out to the Lord and He will answer you according to His word, Jeremiah 33:3.

Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint”.  As the Lord renews our strength, He is preparing us for running season with Him, where we shall not grow weary as we operate in His strength and might.  Mount up, eagles, let your spirits soar with our Saviour, for He is ABOVE all things, (John 3:31).
