Are you standing this day looking out at a sea of impossibility in your circumstances? You have no idea, or awareness, in the natural of what the end of this situation will be. All you can see is the horizon, but beyond the horizon your God is working in the impossibility. What God has devised and planned shall come to fulfilment, but what does God require from you?

Consider this: God’s sovereignty gloves human responsibility:-
What is it that God must do because you cannot? What is it that God requires of you because He will not do it? The following record of Moses demonstrates this.

Exodus 14 records the account of the amazing miracle of the children of Israel crossing the Red Sea on dry ground after their exodus from Egypt. They are terrified, believing themselves to be trapped on the shores of the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army bearing down on them. They see no way of escape. In the moment of crisis the Lord says to Moses, Exodus 14:15 – 16 (AMPC) “….Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward! Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the Israelites shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”

On God’s instruction, the rod of Moses became the rod of God, but God required Moses to grasp the rod and stretch his hand over the sea. When Moses obeyed God, God rolled back the waters supernaturally. God gives faith incrementally to each of His children. This gift is not just to be talked and sung about, but to be used. Grasp the rod! Place your foot of faith forward. God is waiting. He will do His part but requires us to do ours.

When you meet the impossible you can discover the resources of God!

Where is the Goliath in your life? Have you gone into hiding? Almighty God slew the giant, Goliath, with a stone from David’s sling, (1 Samuel 17), but David had to exercise his faith in God to present himself and face Goliath with a paltry sling and stones. The little shepherd boy had the call of God on his life. 1 Samuel 17:26, David enquires “….who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” David knew his God. God slew Goliath by the hand of David. The pebble of David became the stone of God.

Almighty God rolled back the waters of the mighty Red Sea when Moses obeyed and stretched forth his rod over the waters.

The Lord God says to us, “What is that in your hand? Grasp the rod!” We have a Promised Land to enter into, beyond our natural horizon, viewed with the eyes of faith – the much more of God.
