Isaiah 54:2  “Enlarge the place of your tent and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations, spare not, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes”.

Is it growing season for your faith in God?  Clouds and rain are necessary for growth.  Do not consider adversity with the natural eye, but consider the greatness of your God.  Let hope in God arise in your heart and refuse discouragement.  Was Jesus ever discouraged?  He had plenty of opportunity to be so but He always kept in tune with His Father, knowing He was in full control of every situation.

Jesus declared, (Matthew 17:20) “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move, and nothing shall be impossible to you”.  There we have the words of Jesus:  Nothing shall be impossible!

The growth of faith is a journey.  Mustard seed faith placed in God, will grow.  He is the right environment for the seed.  We are all given the gift of faith OF the Son of God, (Galations 2:20).  Our responsibility with that precious gift is to use every opportunity God permits to come my way, to exercise it, not to bury it in negative thoughts.  It will never grow there!

When my faith in God is challenged, if my heart is being ruled by King Jesus, I will rise to the challenge instead of shrinking in dismay.  This is growing season for faith.  Remember Jesus’ parable in Matthew 13:31-32: The tiny mustard seed of faith has all the potential to grow to the maturity of a great tree when placed in the right environment.  Clouds and rain are necessary for growth.  I can choose to live either under the negative shadow of my circumstances, or “under the shadow of the Almighty”, (Psalm 91), God’s provision for me, safe in His pavilion.

Hebrews 11:6  “Without faith it is impossible to please God”.

Hebrews 10:38  “The just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him”.

Hebrews 11:1  “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.

Our natural lives have many boundaries.  At present, our government imposes many boundaries on us due to the current Covid 19 crisis, but there are no boundaries for faith in God, for He has no boundaries.

When we meet the impossible, we can run into the resources of God!  Faith in God has to abandon comfort zones and control, be open to new horizons, to explore new ground, having confidence in our God who has gone before us to prepare the way.  God is faithful and has promised to never leave, nor forsake us.

The increase of small faith to greater is a journey, but we can use every opportunity in circumstance for growth.  Strong faith is not the absence of doubt, but the journey to overcome it.  Abraham is often referred to as the Father of Faith, but he did not suddenly arrive at this position.  He had to work through his unbelief and impatience on his journey to strong faith where Romans 4:20-21 could declare of him: “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.  And being fully persuaded that what He had promised, He was able also to perform”.

Are you, am I, fully persuaded?

I am on this journey with the Lord.  He desires to bring me into His order, fully dependent on Him, trusting Him in all things and exchanging my control for recognising His.  God has unlimited resources to share with us……but for His glory, not men’s.

Let faith arise and see God perform the impossible.  “Enlarge the place of your tent, spare not, lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes……”  It’s growing season!
