Last week the Lord brought the theme of sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Because God loves us, He will keep bringing this theme until we are more sensitive to His promptings. There are some “ingredients” in this spiritual “diet” that never change: love, discipline, sensitivity. Another ingredient God desires is unity. Wherever there is unity in Gatherings or any relationship, there is always blessing. Psalm 133 declares, “How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity………for there the Lord commanded a blessing…..”

God’s purpose is oneness, Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell together in unity. If we don’t take the ingredients of the diet, we don’t enjoy the blessing. Often I do not like the diet, but like many things, it is an acquired taste.

The redeeming love of God is the only answer to unity, the Father’s heartbeat! When the redeeming love of Jesus takes control of all the issues in me, then there will be unity. God’s love towards me and the power of Jesus’ blood in my life, is the same love and power He extends to ALL others. As I firstly relate to Jesus in everything, He brings His harmony to my life, as I live it to the glory of God. When I see how God loves me, how can I hold back in relating to others? The love of God shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost, is the very heart of God reaching out to others. I am jut the earthen vessel holding His treasure.

John 17:22 “And the glory which You gave Me, I have given them: that they may be one, even as We are one”. The “glory” spoken of here as Jesus prayed for His disciples in this whole chapter, is the awareness of His presence, enabling power and anointing for His kingdom purposes. The glory Jesus prayed for His disciples was for unity.
